Mrs. Betty was born in Columbus, Georgia on February 25, 1948 to the late Mary Allene Brown Gallops and George Calvin Gallops. She was married to Robert A. Minard in 1966, becoming an Army wife she settled into her new role and followed him throughout his Army career. They called Columbus, Georgia home until 2007 and moved to Marion County to enjoy life in the country. Mrs. Betty enjoyed traveling with Mr. Robert to the many excursions to pan and mine for precious gems and gold until her health wouldn't allow her to travel.
Mrs. Betty was Christian by faith and attended Fort Perry Baptist Church in the Oakland Community of Marion County. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. No one will be able to fill her shoes, nor the empty space in our hearts. We have the reassurance of one day going to where she is without the pain and rejoicing at the reunion.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband of 55 years, Robert A. Minard; son, Shane Minard and his wife Shelly; daughters: Charity Reilly and her husband Noel Reilly and Deborah "Debbie" Ellison; her very adored grandchildren: Collin, Caleb, Brandon, Tyler, Autumn, Jayden, Liam, Destiney, Don and Charles. Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and George Gallops and her brother Clarence Gallops and his wife Brenda.
