Betty Ann Redmon, age 73, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. A visitation for the family and friends of Betty will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 2:55 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, and a celebration of Betty's life at 3:00 PM.
Betty was born May 8, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia; the daughter of William Luther Raden and Clemmie Constance Morgan Raden. She grew up in the Phenix City/Columbus area and graduated from Central High School. Betty married Thomas Richard Redmon Sr. at the Broad Street Church of Christ in Phenix City, Alabama on March 13, 1965. Betty and Thomas were charter members of the Torch Hill Rd. Church of Christ. They raised their family in Columbus, they are the parents of two children, Tracie and Rich. Betty retired from St. Francis Hospital on May 25, 2012. She was a Customer Service/Patient Account Representative. Her love and trust for God allowed her to live her life fearlessly. She was as kind as she was no-nonsense. One of Betty’s mantras was: we do what we have to do at the time we have to do it. There were three things that you never messed with: her husband, her children or her money. Her husband, Richard, always had her in stitches and like father like son, Rich never passed up an opportunity to poke fun or make a difficult situation light-hearted. She really became animated, happy and filled with laughter if she hooked even the smallest fish while fishing. She loved her family second only to her love for Christ. She also loved the Alabama Crimson Tide football team (NCAA Champions) – Roll Tide! However, the love for her grandson, Austin, was unsurpassed. Momma would want to be remembered by the love she had for her family and for her inability to do anything ordinary especially at Christmas. She would love to be remembered as the queen of QVC.com.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Richard Redmon, Sr.; and her parents, Luther and Clemmie Raden.
Survivors include: her daughter Tracie Ann (Mack) Hamm; her son, Richard (Lisa) Redmon, Jr.; her grandson, Austin Nathaniel Redmon; her granddaughters, Amanda and Jillian Lucena; and by friends of hers and of the family that will cherish her memory.
