Born December 19, 1934, in Dothan, Alabama to the late John and Bertha Weeks.
She was the loving wife of Johnie Frank Singletary for 56 years before his passing in 2008. She started her career at Bibb Manufacturing and retiring from Southern Phenix Textiles. She was a member of Glenn Anthony Baptist Church where she was a beloved member of “The Ladies of Grace Widow Ministry”, loving all her friends and fellowship from their regular outings. Betty had a “green thumb” and enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers. Her passion for sports would find her watching the Atlanta Braves and cheering “Go Georgia Bull Dogs” anytime they played.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charlie B. Weeks and sister, Annette Tharp. She is survived by her children, Garrie Singletary and his wife Patricia and daughter, Mona Jacks, her grandchildren whom she was a proud granny to and loved dearly, Amanda Fisher and her husband Shawn, Adam Singletary and his wife De’ana, Jonathan Jacks and his wife Amanda; and the lights of her life, her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Fisher, Remington Singletary, Hudson Jacks, and Grady Jacks; brother-in-law Robert Singletary; along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with visitation starting an hour prior at 2:00 pm. The burial will take place at Parkhill Cemetery following services.
