Beverly A. Whitman Jones

Beverly A. Whitman Jones, age 75, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on May 16, 1948 to the late Avie Mae Simmons Whitman and Leroy Millard Whitman.

Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family. She was Christian by faith attending church at Mt. Zion Baptist until her health would not allow her to do so. Beverly will be forever in the hearts of all who cherished her.

She is survived by her children: Curtis “Gene” (Jennifer) Grier and Angie (Kenny) Federlick both of Smiths Station, AL; her brother, Gralyn Whitman of Phenix City, AL; her grandchildren: Blake (Delanie) Grier of Columbus, GA, Matthew Grier and Madison Grier both of Smiths Station, AL; her great grandchildren: Serenity Heuer and Daisy Blake Grier; her aunt and uncle, Barbara and Joseph Powers; her best friend, Mrs. Dale Clark; her childhood friend, Shelia Sheets; and a host of other family and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Avie and Leroy Whitman; her husband, Larry Jones, Sr. and her brother Perry Whitman.

A visitation for family and friends for Beverly will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the St Elmo Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
