He was a Veteran of the U.S.Army serving his country for over 20 years receiving many medals and commendations. His military career took him to many states in the United States as well as Germany, Japan, and Korea. Several 2nd and 3rd careers included the US Postal Service and other Government agencies.
Billy was was a hard-working, fun- loving man who loved gardening, loved dogs, and loved his family unconditionally. He always kept a beautiful yard filled with many flowers and blooming trees. He also had quite a vegetable garden for many years , keeping his family and friends supplied with fresh produce all summer.
He was preceded in death by parents, O.B. & Alice Scott,
Siblings; Arthur Blan Scott, Garnet Scott, Perry Scott, Buddy Scott, Nina Crawford, Nellie Norrell, and Thelma Melton, as well as son William Scott.
Billy is survived by his wife, Hisako Scott and daughter Ellen Boike (Brad) , grandson Mitchell Boike(Erika), and grandson Nicholas Scott.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to the wonderful care team from Preferred Care Hospice that assisted Billy over his last months. They have been caring, tender, and supportive to the entire family. Also, many thanks and appreciation to the private caregivers that assisted Billy & Hisako during this time.
A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post National Cemetery in Ft. Benning, GA. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be hosted by the family at a later date.
