
Bobby Brantley Barrow, 87, resident of Columbus, died on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at his residence. Funeral Services are scheduled on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, at 3:00pm with Reverend Rodney Porter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00pm.
Mr. Barrow, son of the late James Howell Barrow Sr. and Ruth Crawley Barrow, was born July 20, 1929 in West Point, Georgia. He was very active in the community and was a member of Striplin Terrace United Methodist Church, the Fellowship Sunday School Class, STARS, Methodist Men and the American Legion. Mr. Barrow attended Young Harris College as well as Huntingdon College before retiring as a Purchaser in the Textile Industry. He also served for many years as Advisor of Junior Achievement Companies. Mr. Barrow served our country honorably in the U.S. Army with the 375th Station Hospital.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion Waters Barrow; brother, James H. Barrow, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Jamie Hamilton Barrow.
Mr. Barrow is survived by his sons, Brantley Barrow (Sharon) of Atlanta, GA., Richard Barrow (Harriet) of Columbus, GA.; grandchildren, Ric Barrow of Columbus, GA., Carter Barrow (Alyssa) of Salem, AL., Brant Barrow (Alecia) of Atlanta, GA., Rebecca Barrow of Atlanta, GA.; sister, Nancy Barrow Hill of Indianapolis, IN.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Waters Wilson (Robert) of Tuscaloosa AL., brother-in-law, James V. Waters (Marjean) of Columbus, GA.; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
