Bobby Ray Hicks

Bobby Ray Hicks, 81, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with a visitation one hour prior. A committal service will take place at Parkhill Cemetery following services.

Bobby was born on June 24, 1944, to Velma and Sanford Hicks in Columbus, Georgia. He enjoyed all the outdoors activities such as hunting, fishing, mud riding in his truck and attending Fellowship Baptist Church on Sundays. He cheered on the Alabama Football team, “Roll Tide”, and loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gayle Hicks; his daughter, Stacy Lee Snider (Ricky); his grandchildren, Jessica Faith Antley and Harrison Roughton (Meghan); his great grandchildren, Wyatt LeGary Antley, Hunter Lee Antley and Reagan Mims Roughton; and his sister, Malinda Hicks Johnston Brannon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Velma Doris Hicks and Daniel Sanford Hicks; his siblings, Dorothy Lorene Batts, Edith Jerline Braswell, Daniel Earl Hicks, Jimmy Clyde Hicks, and Billy Eugene Hicks.
