Bonnie Jean Mosley Walker a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend was greeted in glory by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the age of 77. Her sunrise was on June 27, 1948, in Selma, Alabama, Bonnie was blessed to Louise Mosley to cherish and nurture. She was a 1967 graduate of RB Hudson High School in Selma, Alabama. She attended Nyack College in Nyack, New York. She was married to Willie Walker, Jr. in Columbus, Georgia in June of 1981. She was a member of Grace & Truth Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. She worked in Columbus for Swift Mills, and with Luna Head Start retiring as a culinary supervisor. Bonnie lived with quiet strength and unwavering faith. Her days were guided by prayer and purpose, and she approached life with humility, grace and devotion. Bonnie loved truly with a wide-open heart. She was a true people person: compassionate, kind, nurturing, and loving. Bonnie embraced wisdom through scripture and strength through prayer. She was an example of God’s love-Bonnie touched countless lives; her values were true and honest it was her love and compassion for others that will be a beacon to all who knew and especially loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Willie Walker, Jr.; sons: Valdiz, Timothy, and Immanual Walker; daughter: Lori Walker-Smith; granddaughter: Jasmine Walker; grandsons: Valdiz L. Walker and Jaquavion Charles; great-grandson, Ty Bryonn Carroll; sisters: Bennie Mae Heard and Nasretta Rivera; mother-in-law Mary Walker Alexander; sisters-in-law: Catherine Jones, Gladys J. Walker, Gwendolyn Rowland and Mattie Warren; brothers-in-law Alfred D. Walker and Jonathan Walker (Nicole); affectionate niece, Renatta and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, greats, cousins and a host of other family members and friends. One aunt, Alice Clemons; extended family: Arnetha “Neet” Wiggins and sisters. Alongside them, she leaves behind her Grace and Truth Church family.
Bonnie was greeted in glory by her mother, Louise Mosley; beloved sisters: Clementine Salvage, Earnestine Williams, Gloria Hollis and Debra Farrish; and beloved grandson, Jacarie Charles.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Bonnie’s Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. She will be laid to rest in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 12:30 PM.
