James “Brad” Shivers, age 53, of Smiths Station, passed away on June 15, 2020. A visitation of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:00; memorial services will follow at 3:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
Brad was born on January 7, 1967 in Cobb Hospital in Phenix City, AL and was a lifelong resident of the Columbus/Phenix City area. He was employed by Watley Heating and Air Conditioning as an HVAC Technician for over 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, and football. What he truly loved was spending time with his family.
Brad was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Vann Brooks, and a sister, Judy Ann Regan.
Survivors include his life partner, Traci Pylant; a daughter, Jessica (Craig) Strom; step-children, Leeanne (Logan) Wood, Hunter Ivester, and Hannah Pylant; grandchildren, Caleb, Adelyn, and Greyson; brothers, Billy (Brandy) Brooks and Freddie (Eddie) Slaughter; sister, Linda (Bobby) Edge; and multiple nieces, nephews and friends of the family that will cherish his memory.
