Brenda Gail Rodgers, 76, of Seale, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A visitation will be one hour prior.
Brenda was born on June 16, 1949, to C.B. and Marguerite Cook in Columbus, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School and was a member of Silver Run Baptist Church where she served the Lord. Brenda worked at SunTrust Bank for over 20 years, where she retired from.
One thing you can remember Brenda by is the love she had for her family. She loved telling people her name was Brenda Gail, her daughter’s name was Beulah Gail, her granddaughter was Crystal Gail, and her daughter’s mother-in-law was Wanda Gail. She was a very proud grandmother or “grandbob” to her two grandchildren and was always bragging on her family. She enjoyed music and playing the piano and loved all things that were the color purple. One of her family sayings that you can take with you was “One day and one step at a time!” (with God’s help).
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, C. B. Cook and Marguerite Green Cook; her siblings, Vivian Long, Bailey Cook and Leonard Cook; her brother in laws, Jim Long and Jack McClellan; and her sister in laws, Pat Cook and Arvetta Cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Beulah Ray (Rusty); her grandchildren, Allen Ray II and Crystal Gail Ray; and her siblings, Bobby Cook, Willie Cook, Wayne Cook (Bonita), Leila Mae Motes, Sam Cook (Pat), Linda McClellan and Michael Cook (Debbie); and her sister in laws, Frankie Cook and Charlotte Cook.
