Bryan Paul Steward, age 66, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2019. A visitation for family & friends will begin Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the St Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. A Celebration of Bryan's Life will occur Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 2915 14th Ave, Columbus, GA 31904. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Bryan was born September 20, 1953 in Northfield, Michigan to Beverly Marlow and Leslie Steward. Bryan was a carpenter by trade. He loved; God and going to church; his wife, children and grandchildren. Bryan enjoyed Fishing, Hunting and karate. He was an avid Braves and Dawgs fan. Bryan lived with Joy in the Lord in spite of difficult Circumstances. Singing and smiling even in pain. He taught by example that you don’t find joy in your circumstances, you find it in the Lord. Trust God no matter what. He will always be remembered for loving others. He would want everyone to know he trusted in Christ as His Savior, and would want others to do the same.
In his own words, “People come to me sometimes and tell me, they don’t think they could handle this kind of experience. All I know to tell them is, to just keep trusting the Lord. He will provide the sufficient grace. There may be times of depression, discouragement and loneliness, and times when we feel like throwing in the towel and quitting, but God knows what we are going through. If we would just focus on Him, who is the Author and finisher of our faith. He will help us go through whatever we are going through.”
Bryan was preceded in death by; his mother Beverly Steward Aldridge; step father Marvin Aldrich, Leslie Steward, brother Tracy Aldrich. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Steward; daughter Andria Gardner (Chris) Children- (Jacob, Hannah, Andrew, Joshua); daughter Esther Lockhart (Jeremy) children- (Allie, Bethany, Judah, Levi, Eden), Lester Steward (Kate) children - (Grace, Authur); sister Terry Hicks, brother Jeffery Aldrich, brother Steven Aldrich and brother Richard Steward.
