Doug was born on September 30, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia the son of Calvin and Mary Mainor. Doug graduated from Halley Turner High School and then he served in the United States Navy. He made Columbus his home, where he was a member of Miller Road Baptist Church of God and where had a long career as an autobody technician. Doug married Jean Stevenson in 1960, Janice Price in 1987, and Carol Bunting who passed in 2022.
Survivors include: six sons, Don Mainor, Ricky Mainor, Michael Mainor, Mark Mainor, Scott Mainor, Michael Bunting; three daughters-in-law; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
