Carla Getrud (Huber) Dumas was born October 20th 1952 in Zirndorf, Germany to the late Ludwig Huber and Getrud Else (Sauer) Huber. She is preceded in death by her husband Homer Lee Dumas, and brothers Toni Huber and Karlheinz Huber.
Carla found Christ at an early age and continued her faith until her passing. Carla met and married her late husband Homer Lee Dumas of Forsythe, Georgia in Germany on June 25th, 1974. To this union, Elvin Dumas and Carisa Dumas were born and joined the family along with their brother Meikel Huber.
Carla retired from the restaurant business after many years of owning and managing restaurant and cleaning businesses. Carla loved to cook, spend time with family, garden, and focus on her hobby feeding hummingbirds. Carla was a true friend to so many, always willing to support and lend a helping hand whenever needed. More than anything though, Carla loved God and her family.
Carla is survived by her son Meikel Huber (Sabine), son Elvin Dumas (Davina), and daughter Carisa Dumas; her grandchildren Nadine Geiselhart, Diahsia Dumas, Diairyqua Dumas, Alex Dumas, Xylina Dumas, and Destini Bennett; great grandchildren Faith Dumas, and Xyon Hernandez; brother Martin Huber, sister Elke (Huber) Parker (Ronnie), brother Dieter Huber (Ingrid), and sister Liliane Huber; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, St. Elmo Room, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Family will visit with friends during this time. Carla’s inurnment will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856 on February 28th at 1:30 PM where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Homer Lee Dumas.
