Carmie Frances Jacobs Camp

Carmie Frances Jacobs Camp, of Columbus, passed away on July 4, 2019. A visitation of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July, 7, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Graveside services will be on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Parkhill Cemetery at 2:30 pm.

Carmie was born on July 3, 1948 in Phenix City; the daughter of James Tullis Jacobs and Nita Spann Jacobs. She attended Jordan High School and was a lifelong resident of Columbus. Carmie married the love of her life, Luke Weldon Camp Jr, on June 4, 1965, they were married for over 54 years. Carmie was active in the community throughout her life and enjoyed volunteering; she was a devoted member of the Medical Center Auxiliary for over 13 years, president of the auxiliary for three terms, she was the cheerleading coordinator for 13 years for the Northeast Columbus Packers youth football, a den mother for cub scouts, a room mom, and team mom for various teams through the years. Carmie enjoyed doing crafts, antiquing, QVC, and talking with her sisters Nora and Barbara. What Carmie loved most was being a wife, mother, grandmother and spending time with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nita and Tullis Jacobs; a brother, Jerry Jacobs; a sister, Nora Hightower; and an infant son, Scott Adam Camp.

Survivors include her husband, Luke Camp; daughter; Jennifer Berman; son, Chris Camp; five grandchildren, Kyle Fike, Amber Fredrick, Wes Camp, Sydnee Camp, Chad Camp, and many other loving family members and friends to cherish her memory.
