Carole Moore Hart

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Fisher Chapel at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, 31907 with inurnment to follow at Parkhill Cemetery.

Carole was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, on January 23, 1950, to Robert and Catherine Moore. She grew up in Jackson, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; and Miami, Florida. She attended Brenau University, an all-women’s college, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She later attended Miami University pursuing ophthalmology.

During her time in Miami, Carole met the love of her life, Donald Ray Dobbins Sr. The two later married in May 1969 and shared 38 years of love together. They raised six beautiful children, built a successful family and business, and most importantly, kept Christ at the center of their marriage and home. Their life together was filled with love, light, faith, and devotion to one another.

Carole and Don were devoted stewards of their community and church. Carole was a faithful follower of Christ and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia, where she had a special love and passion for the youth ministry. She participated in numerous mission trips with the youth and generously supported their endeavors. She was a firm believer in the power of prayer and helped begin the tradition of the prayer room at First Baptist, a ministry that continued for many years and gave members of her church family a special place to pray, fellowship, and experience the love of God.

Alongside Don, Carole devoted much of her life to building a successful family business. As Owner and President of Composite Construction Systems, Inc., she played an important role in the company’s success through her leadership, dedication, and commitment. Her impact was felt by her employees, customers, business partners, family, and friends, and the legacy she built will continue for years to come.

After Don’s passing, Carole married SGM (Ret.) Ronald E. Hart. They shared 10 special years together, continuing Carole’s love of travel and her joy in spending time with her ever-growing extended family.

Carole was not only a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was also an adventurous soul who loved experiencing all the world had to offer. She found joy in travel, art, antiques, history, and the beauty of different cultures. Her home was a reflection of her curiosity and appreciation for the world around her—a place filled with culture, knowledge, warmth, and acceptance for every part of God’s wonderful creation.

Carole lived a very full life and touched the hearts of countless people. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, loved, and valued. Her faith, generosity, adventurous spirit, and deep love for her family will be among the many things she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Donald Ray Dobbins Sr. and SGM (Ret.) Ronald E. Hart; her parents, Robert and Catherine Moore; and her mother- and father-in-law, Ray and Doris Dobbins.

Carole is lovingly survived by her six children: Donald Ray Dobbins Jr. (Lori Dobbins), John Ryan Dobbins (Jennifer Dobbins), Robert Vaughn Dobbins (Kimberly Dobbins), Katherine Dannette Martinez (Julio Martinez), Aaron Lane Dobbins (Kelsey Dobbins), and Patrick Kellon Dobbins; her cherished grandchildren: Kamryn (Austin), Cheyenne, Bailey (Matthew), Audrey, Lucy, Maci, Colton, Tucker, Lincoln, Julian, Summer, Madeline, and Natalie; her great-grandchildren: Waylon, Maycee, Brenden, and Matthew; her siblings: Gary Moore (Nancy Moore), Clark Moore (Lynda Moore), and Laura Clemmons (Christopher Clemmons); her sister-in-law, Sherry Duerr; her brother-in-law, Michael Dobbins; and her many friends and extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.

Carole’s greatest legacy will be the love she gave to those around her. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love, a church family strengthened by her faith, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created, the faith she shared, and the love she gave will continue through the generations that follow her.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Carole requested that donations be made in loving memory of Donald and Carole Dobbins to Easter Seals of West Georgia or to the Youth Ministry at First Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia.

She lived with faith, loved with her whole heart, and left the world a little brighter simply by being in it. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
