A Rosary with Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 5:00 until 7:00 PM, in Fisher Chapel at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071, Macon Rd., Columbus, Georgia. The Visitation is expected to begin at 5:45 PM; Funeral Services for Catherine will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 12 noon in Fisher Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
Catherine was born November 18, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Albert Peter Pfohl and Helen Pfohl. Catherine was raised in Dubuque, graduated high school there and married the love of her life, Rueben Klimeck, April 4, 1959. Growing up she learned to appreciate things, to take care of them, respect them, and to be grateful for your blessings. She was a military spouse for over twenty years, they were first stationed in Germany, then stationed at Fort Benning, where they remained for remainder of his career and made Columbus, Georgia their home.
Catherine was an active member at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Our Lady of Lourdes School. She enjoyed the various activities and functions through the years that kept her close to those friends, her church and the Lord. She loved her family and cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a passionate animal lover; her pets meant the world to her. She really enjoyed getting together with her family and friends, enjoying a meal together, sharing a laugh, or making time to do some good deeds for others.
Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Rueben; her sister, Nancy; and two brothers, Eddie and Joe. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Elliott; her granddaughter, Tara (Nick) Phillips; great granddaughters, Adeline and Emmy; and son-in-law, Mike Elliott.
