The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Snookie was born August 9, 1928 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas the daughter of the late John A. and Lottie Causey. She was the third of four daughters. Most of her young years were spent in a little country town in Tensas Parrish in Louisiana known as St. Joseph. Her father worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a Station Master, whose job it was to communicate with the locomotive engineer as a telegrapher to bring the engines to a complete stop in front of the station.
When she was in high school the family moved back to Pine Bluff. She graduated at the end of the eleventh grade and decided to go to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. While there, Louisiana had a rare snow storm and Snookie spied a handsome WWII Army Air Corp. veteran and student walking across campus. To catch his attention, she decided to push him over in the snow. That handsome guy would end up being the love of her life…Bob. Seventy years ago on December 19th she married Bob in the living room of her family home by their church minister.
Snookie spent her life being a devoted wife and mother to their four children. She was a strong Christian woman. She was a member of many Baptist churches throughout her life including The First Baptist Church of Columbus. Her smile and energy would fill a room when she entered. She always had a good eye for fashion and color which eventually lead to her passion for watercolor painting. She studied painting for many years and enjoyed sharing her work with family and friends. She was a member of the Columbus Artist Guild.
Snookie, or NikNik as she was known by family, was a wonderful wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by many. Survivors include two sons: Robert Clark Moore and his wife, Lynda of Columbus, John Gary Moore and his wife, Nancy of Topeka, KS; 2 daughters: Carole Dobbins Hart and her husband, Ronald of Columbus, Laura Catherine Moore Clemmons and her husband, Chris of Burlington, NC; 2 sisters: Billie Jo Dumas of Houston, TX and Varga Gladhart and her husband, John of Highland, KS. Her legacy includes 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Clifford Christian, Snookie’s caregiver and best friend. His love and devotion to her for the last four years is undeniable. They enjoyed laughing and watching movies together. We will be forever grateful for your unselfish demonstration of kindness and love to her on a daily basis.
