Catherine H. Spillane December 9, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA— Catherine H. Spillane, age 69, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2010. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Private burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. A rosary will be said on Sunday, December 12 at 6:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus with visitation to follow. Cathy was born in Ft. Benning, GA in 1941 and had resided in Columbus her entire life. She began her schooling at St. Joseph's and St. Anne's elementary schools and Baker High School as well as post schooling seminars. She and her husband, Dr. Raymond Spillane were the first couple to be married at St. Anne Catholic Church on December 28, 1961. Cathy devoted her time and talent to her family by working for her husband for many years and always volunteering her services at her children's schools, St. Anne and Pacelli High School. After working for Pacelli for twenty glorious years she transferred as secretary to St. Benedict Catholic Church until her retirement. It was a spiritual pleasure for her. Survivors include her husband, Raymond; three beautifully talented sons and two amazing daughters-in-law, Paul and Esther Spillane, Tim Spillane and Mark and Leigh Spillane; three wonderful grandchildren, Ivan, Michael and Kayla Spillane; her sister, Ann Torres and her husband Marco as well as many nieces and nephews.
