Charlene Wright Strickland

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 22, 2011 at Greater Life Baptist Church, 305 Old Grey Rock Road, Midland, GA with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. Reverend Jonathan McNeese will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Strickland was employed with AFLAC for over 30 years and was finally enjoying her retirement. Her family was her entire life and nothing could contain the size of her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Noel Strickland, her father, Charles Wright, her mother, Laverne Wright and her brother, Larry Wright.

She is survived by her brothers, Vincent Wright and wife Lucy, Jerry Wright and wife Louise and sisters, Anna McClain and Caroline Lacobee. She has one son Lonnie Lingafelter and his wife Tammy. She has three step children, Tangie Summerall and her husband Charles, Jimmy Strickland and his wife Amanda and Tonya Strickland. She has nine grandchildren, Brittany Lingafelter, Kelsey Lingafelter, Manuel Parra-Chavez, Tristan Parra-Chavez, Cheyenne Parra-Chavez, Matthew Summerall, Wyatt Summerall, Allysa Wilburn, and Brody Strickland.
