Charles William "Bill" Land, Sr., life long resident of Columbus, died on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 11 a.m. with Reverend Jimmy Sargent officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
Mr. Land, son of the late Richard S. Land, Sr. and Mamie Pearl Fuller Land, was born October 22, 1919 in Columbus. He was as veteran of World War II and was employed for several years at Fort Benning, faithfully serving as an Editor for Training Media.
He was survived by his son, Charles W. Land, Jr and many other relatives and friends.
