SFC (Ret) Charles William Wofford

Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

SFC Wofford was born on January 28, 1928 in Boaz, AL. to the late William D. Wofford and Dora A. Scott Wofford. He retired after 21 years from the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. After his military career he began working for Farrar’s TV and later retiring with 31 years of service. His wife Virginia M. Wofford and 5 brothers and 5 sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Robert A. Paul, Gary D. Wofford, and Belinda Jane Carruth, grandchildren, Robbie Paul, Kim Hall, Sherri Spears, Christopher Bullard, and Hannah Carruth, nine great grandchildren, and a sister, Jen Richards.
