Charlotte Vivian Roth (nee Chambers) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024 , in Columbus, GA, at the age of 96. She was born on November 20, 1927, in Chattanooga, TN, to her late parents Roy and Marie Chambers of Huntsville, AL. A visitation for Charlotte will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Celebration of Charlotte’s Life will follow on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 4071 Macon Rd, Interment will be at Main Post Cemetery, 6551 Fort Benning Blvd, Fort Benning, Georgia 31905.
Charlotte, known for her sharp mind and warm heart, graduated as Valedictorian from Surattsville High School in Maryland. She furthered her education at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Cleveland, TN. Charlotte had a fulfilling career at Conners Publishing in Denver, CO, and later served in Navy Finance in the same city.
A devoted member of Morningside Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, Charlotte found solace and community in her faith. She cherished her lifetime travel experiences, especially as a military family, and her visits to The Holy Land and The Great Pyramids.
Devoted to her church and spirituality, Charlotte brought joy to all who knew her with her sweet demeanor and unwavering kindness. Known for her love of good food, she delighted in sharing meals with her loved ones. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years LTC (Ret) Homer E. Roth, R.L. Chambers, brother, Billy Chambers, brother, Shirley Richie, sister and LTC (Ret) Barney L. Roth, Jr-brother in-law.
Charlotte is survived by her loving children: LTC (Ret) Ronald H. Roth, Fortson, GA, Douglas Roth (Vickie) of Columbus, GA, Kathleen Olson (LTC-Ret) (Mark) of San Pedro, CA, her grandchildren Rachel Roth, Erin Wetmore (Gabe), Adam Olson (Beth), Amy Sullivan (Tyler), Andrew Mullican (Melody), Emily Pemberton (Lee), and 16 great-grandchildren, and brother Richard Chambers (Delores) of Huntsville, AL, former daughter in law Renee Roth and loving wonderful friends Ed and Nisla Asher and Don Dotlich, Irene Chalkley and Jerri and Vince Hartman.

Charlotte's kindness, wisdom, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
