A Visitation for the Family and Friends of Christine will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A Graveside Service will follow on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Chris was born in Barbour County, Alabama on July 13, 1938; the daughter of the late James Jackson Chance and Tura Doris Chance. She graduated from Jordan Vocational High School and was a member of Evangel Church. She loved going to church whenever the doors were open and especially loved her Tuesday Bible study group and visiting shut-ins. She loved to go for walks, read, and eat Burger King any chance she could get. Chris loved her family and cherished spending time with them.
Chris is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Doris Chance and a sister, Mandy Bowling.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Jo O’Pry (Kenny); grandson, Brannon Odell O’Pry (Abi); great granddaughter, Ann Collins O'Pry; sister, Jessie Mitchell (Ralph); nieces, Paige Forsyth (Billy), Wendy Horne (Tim), Audra Wright (Scott); and six great nieces and nephews.
