I was just made aware of Chris’s passing. I was a partner in the industry for many years covering Chris. He was truly one of the most genuine and enjoyable people I have had the great opportunity to call client and friend. Wise in his conversation and a gentle gentleman. He lit up every time I asked about his wife kids grandkids. You all were truly his center and his love for his clients was always apparent. I knew Chris at Chavala High School in 1969. He was nice and polite but I didn’t know him well. Many years later my baby sister was married to Chris’ baby brother. His parents had a big July 4th celebration every year and my family went most every year. I saw Chris with his wife,Lee, and their 2 boys. I also saw Lanny with his first wife. Many years later when my husband passed away in 2015 I was on fb and saw Lanny through a post about my cat and Lanny responded. We dated and eventually married and that is how Chris became my brother in law. He was always kind and smiling and treated me just like family right from the beginning of mine and Lanny’s relationship. He loved his wife,Lee,and cherished his 4 grandchildren. His oldest son,Christopher lives in Mississippi and has the 4 grandchildren with him so Chris and Lee made many trips to there. Clint and his wife live in Columbus,and are always nearby and available. Both of Chris’ sons attended college in Mississippi. Chris was loved by many and will be missed by many. May he RIP.

When all of us boys were still at home at The 4 Boys Ranch we had chickens and also a mean rooster who would attack you and didn’t want anybody messing with the eggs. My Mother was the one gathering the eggs that day. We heard her screaming and all of us came running from the other side of the house. The rooster was attacking my Mother and Chris being the punter for the Chavala High School Football Team started running and in full stride kicked that rooster way up in the air and it came down dead and needless to say we had chicken and dumplings that nite for dinner. Chris saved the day.

Chris, is a bright light in our family, who brought laughter, kindness, and unwavering support to everyone he met. He had a gift for making others feel heard and seen. Chris always held a special place in my mothers “Kay’s” heart. They shared many stories and fun times and now they are reunited. I imagine their conversations continuing with love and laughter in the next life.  Chris will forever be in my heart. Rest in peace cousin you will be missed.

I graduated with Chris in 1969.  He was always kind and pleasant towards me in school.  Jan and I will pray for the strength his family needs at this time.  He was a good fellow from a  close family he loved.

I met Chris right after my father passed away. He helped me navigate through a difficult time in my life.  His wisdom on finances and life were absolutely incredible. 
He also helped my grandmother manage her finances and investments even though it did not pertain to him. 
My condolences go out to the entire family.

My heart is absolutely broken today. This morning I got a call from the bank on behalf of Chris and immediately had a gut feeling of what that call was about. I hurriedly found the obituary column for the Columbus/Phenix City area and there in fine print was the news that I was dreading to find nor read. My late spouse and I had our first meeting with Chris in 2015 after my youngest son died. He showed such compassion, such brotherly love and concern for a fellow human being that was grieving their heart out it was comforting to have him there talking with us. I also found out that it is truly a small world due to the fact that he had went to high school with my first cousins at Chavala while growing up in Seale. He knew them well, especially Sidney who worked for NCR company. I felt that Chris was much more than a financial advisor, he was a true friend. Chris was there for me again in 2020 when my late husband died. He guided me, advised me and I felt that my best interest was truly at the center of his heart. He would always ask about my children and treat my oldest son with the upmost respect when Ian would take me to my appts. with him. Little did I know that this past December would be the last time I got to see & talk with Chris. I will always be thankful for Chris's friendship, guidance and sage advice and will miss him dearly. May his family find comfort in knowing that he lived his life with compassion, care, love and a willingness to go above and beyond to help a fellow man. My sincere condolences.

I am heartbroken to hear of Chris’s passing. In the short 15 months I knew him, he became so much more than a financial advisor to me. During one of the most difficult times in my life, as I navigated my father’s estate, Chris showed up with a level of kindness, patience, and genuine care that I will never forget.

He didn’t just help me with finances, he helped me carry the weight of it all. He took the time to truly know me. He would take me to lunch when I was in town, share in my stories, and even got excited about the little things, like my father’s coin collection. He went so far as to give me a book on rare coins and enthusiastically join me in moments that had nothing to do with business, like always asking me before starting a conversation how my chickens were doing or insisting we go test drive a car together. That was just who he was.

Chris became a meaningful connection to my father during that time, and losing him feels like losing a piece of that connection as well. I am so deeply grateful for the compassion, warmth, and humanity he showed me. He made a lasting impact on my life in a way I will always carry with me. I loved listening to him share stories about his wife, sons, brothers and grandchildren. 

My heart goes out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was truly one of a kind, and he will be missed more than words can express. Lee, the way Chris spoke about you left no doubt how deeply he loved you. There was a joy and pride in him that spoke volumes. It was clear how special the love you shared was.
