Roy retired after 26 years in the United States Army as the AG SGM at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Roy is predeceased by his wife Tera A. Broadus of 38 years and stepdaughter. He is survived by 4 children Allen L. Broadus, Dustin M. Broadus, Lycretia D. Black and Carlton W. Broadus with their spouses and 6 stepchildren. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Roy enjoyed playing guitar for family, friends and others. Roy also enjoyed interacting with his great grandson Sebastian and great granddaughter Gracie. Roy also was a part of the VFW and served in their auxiliary unit in Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Union United Methodist Church in Irmo, South Carolina on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 2:00PM till 4:00PM. Graveside services will be at the National Cemetery at Fort Mitchell, Alabama on February 21, 2023 at 11:30AM.
