
A Graveside Service for David will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Pastor Matt Hawkins officiating. Family will visit with friends after the service at graveside.
David was born on November 11, 1961 in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Colon Henry Brady and Muriel Thomasson. He enlisted in the United States Army stationed in Richmond, Virginia and later on achieved the rank of Sergeant. During his military service, he served as a Fighting Vehicle Infantryman and a Ground Combat Infantryman, as well as serving time in the 101st Airborne Division during the Cold War in the 1980s. Within his 8 years of service, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Air Assault Badge, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (2d Award), Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (NUM 1), Army Commendation Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge (M-16), and the Second Class Qualification Badge (Hand Grenades). After being discharged from the military, he went on to own the military surplus store, Columbus Armory. His hobbies included guns and going to the shooting range.
David is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Jane; his sister, Susan Brady Burnley; his nephew, Justin Alexander Burnley; and his niece, Keeley Renee Burnley.
