COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- David Harrison Burrell, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2011 according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Mr. Burrell was born on June 16, 1959 to Ralph J. Burrell and Ruby Parker Whitler in Fredericksburg, VA. He was a 1977 graduate of Hardaway High School and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Burrell was an avid golfer and fisherman and a member of the Dolphin Bass Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph J. Burrell.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Denise W. Burrell of Columbus; his mother, Ruby Whitler (Robert) of Columbus; a brother, James Michael Burrell of Columbus; his grandmother, Grace C. Harden of Columbus; an uncle, James R. Parker (Frances) and a beloved pet, Dusty.
