Deborah Sue Franklin
September 14, 1957 – July 7, 2018
Deborah Sue Franklin, 60, of Columbus, GA, passed away suddenly at home, Saturday, July 7, 2018. Deborah was born September 9, 1957 in Fort Benning, GA to her late parents William and Lillian Bryant Franklin. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus. In her early years, she was fun loving, feisty, had a big heart, and always had her friends back. As her disability progressed she became more of a stay at home person, but continued to take care for and love her family. Playing with the grandchildren and her two dogs, Mini and Peanut always brought a smile to her face. Remembering the good times with old friends, and sharing stories made her laugh. Deborah will always be remembered as a loving, caring protector with a big heart. The family will welcome guest for visitation Wednesday, July 11, 2018 through Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the home of Gene’s brother, Ray Duncan, 2415 13th Street. Phenix City, AL. A Celebration of Deborah’s Life will be Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in The Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Along with her parents, Ms. Franklin is preceded in death by one brother. She is survived by her longtime companion, Gene Duncan; three daughters, Denisa (Danny) Mooneyham, Saprina Franklin and Heather Duncan; son Troy (Ashley) Duncan; one sister and two brothers; an abundance of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

I can remember when I got my 1st bike when we lived in Texas with mom when we were little and we rode down the street laughing. All the way to when just week before last she was here with the girls laughing and playing with the cow and goat and puppies!!!!!! It was great not having any idea of how soon it would be the last time we would be hugging and saying "I love you and of how proud of each other we were"!
Mom may you fly freely with all our family of angels in the sky because I know how happy the all are of you! You grew in Faith, Love and Life since you and Gene got together and I want you know how proud the glow shows on you.
May you sit on whos shoulder needs it until we meet again. Love you Mom
