We have so many fond memories of Dennis. He had the best sense of humor and full of practical jokes. He always had time to listen and share his point of view. We were lucky enough to be not only friends but family.  
When Rick & I were looking for houses the instant we were shone a house in the same neighborhood as Cathy & Dennis we were excited to be close to them and couldn't wait to move in.
It was so much fun to be down the street from Dennis, Cathy. Andrea & Bubba. It was great for our kids to grow up together.  Good times for sure.

Dennis always impressed with his love of life. He did things to the fullest - like tennis, hunting, fishing and boating, as be always enjoyed adventure.  And he insured his kids were in activities for their own enrichment. 

We have very fond memories of his trip with Cathy to visit with us in Hawaii.  Those fun times are treasured memories.

We will always love him, and his beautiful family.




Memories, we have many - Vacations at the beach, trip to US Open in New York , water skiing and tennis to name a few. Dennis was my friend! He was family. He was fun. We shared goals. We dabbled in the stock market. 
Tennis - I taught Dennis the basics of tennis. He was a great competitor and did not like to lose. In one of our matches after losing a point his racquet wound up in the back of a pickup truck leaving Cooper Creek. But then as things progressed, the "pupil became the teacher" as Dennis liked tell me.
Water skiing - we learned with hard knocks on Lake Oliver. Then one Sunday when skiing, I wrecked his boat! He took me to the hospital and supported me. Later he said, "I kept waiting for you to turn. It looked like something out of James Bond movie"
US Open in New York - Outside the stadium waiting to get in, Cathy dropped her box seat ticket. Some how Dennis found it turned upside down on the ground. Really a miracle.
Obviously, I could go on with great memories. But the most important thing , Judy and I loved Dennis. Dennis is now with Lord without pain and probably looking for his next tennis match.  


Dennis and I have been friends since 1978 . Started playing tennis together and then vacations together .We had a very good friendship. I would say we had a long friendship ,but he was cut from our lives way to short. Dennis was a great friend ,tennis player ,father and a husband. Dennis will be missed by everyone who knew  him.

I will miss Dennis, he was always friendly.  I will always remember he sent his men to fix the leak in our roof after Donna fell through our ceiling while we were trying to find it.  I know he was called home too soon.  I will miss my neighbor.

Instead of sharing a memory I decided to talk about the man I knew. Anyone who worked for Dennis can tell you what a great man he was. It might sound cliche, but I can honestly say that Dennis was the best boss I ever had, and I am willing to bet that everyone who worked for him feels the same way.
Trust. Honesty. Fairness. Those are just a few ways to describe Dennis. His love for family was undeniable. His commitment to faith unyielding. I think it is fair to say that the world has lost a loving father, a doting husband, and one helluva boss. I know I speak for the entire crew at Lott Sheet Metal when I say that Dennis will be deeply missed. 


Dennis was my cousin and we grew up together living one house apart from each other. I have many fond memories of those childhood days. I was given the nickname by his dad of Danny Darling and Dennis became Den-Den. We shared those names throughout our lives. What a blessing to have a cousin and his family to grow up with. Our many prayers have been with Dennis and his family over the past months. We will continue to pray for Cathy and family in the days to come. We are here if you need us. Don’t hesitate to call us for anything you need at any time. God is walking with you through your loss. Our hearts are with you!

Dennis loved to laugh and have fun.  He always had an interesting story to tell and it usually ended in laughter.  While he was a successful entrepreneur,  we believe Dennis’s greatest accomplishment was the family that he built together with Cathy.  We watched how Andrea and Bubba and their families came together to care for Dennis (and Cathy) as his cancer progressed and it was a beautiful picture of family as God designed it to function.  Dennis was our brother in law and we loved him.  

One spring while cleaning the flower bed next the house, Dennis and Cathy found what they thought to be rubbery snake eggs.  So Dennis put them in a jar and told me he had plans to give them out as Christmas gifts ... and “guess who was getting the first one.?”   
I loved his great sense of humor and quick wit.  It has been a pleasure knowing him as extended family and neighbor.   We already miss him so much.  

Sweet memories living next door to him  growing up on Cody Rd kids back then we all stayed out side playing in the yard we lived on a little died road called Wyndham dr across the dirt rd was a little field we always played baseball or kick ball sometimes we would dig a little hole fill it with the water hose we would have us a little lake make us some stick boats make some little roads around the lake had us some little match box cars play out there all day and remember the times we would go over to Ms Stevens house Dennis grandmother she sure could play that piano you could hear her playing out in the yard back in those days everyone had there windows up and doors open Sweet Beautiful Memories growing up in those days Prayers and Love to you and your family Ms Kathy just hang on to those Sweet Memories 

Dennis if the tears that I have shed for you over these last couple of weeks would have kept you here you would be here forever I love you my brother and I will see you one day in heaven thank you for all that you have done for me.

I will always think of Dennis as a true friend and trusted colleague.
He did not have to tell you he was a Christian man, his actions showed you he was.  He did not have to tell you he was a family man, his actions showed you he was.  He was a man of high character, integrity and strong morals.  I enjoyed traveling together and especially us both catching the high dollar sailfish in Mexico.  We spent many hours discussing our business challenges and all the crazy mishaps of owning a commercial roofing company.  We had many laughs and many good times.  I will miss you - thanks for being a great friend!



 Dennis has been a part of our family for as long as I can remember. I always saw him as an amazing husband to my sister, a loving and involved dad to my niece and nephew and a  proud and supportive grandfather to Jackson, Willow, Julia and Henry. He was a true family man and great provider.  When I think of Dennis  I always think of him as someone who lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed life.    He was active and  actively seeking a the next adventure.  What a true blessing!
 I am praying today that God heals your hearts with his love and your overflowing fond, fond memories made with Dennis.

i have known cathy and dennis for over 40 years and have been great friends... dennis and i played a lot of tennis together over the years, and he was always a great competitor... our friendship spilled of into the business side and i frequently called on his expertise and knowledge of property and rental values.... we shared thoughts on many different types of investments and in most cases seemed to make an little money..... so many good times that i will never forget  dennis recreationally and professionally.... i will always remember him with the greatest values in life... someone who i will always remember....  he was forever a great friend of mine.... rick gordon  

So thankful for this wonderful friend.  Enjoyed the many trips we were able to take together.  Dennis was always game to join in the activities and fun.  He loved boats and Greg and I were fortunate to spend lots of time together with him and Cathy on cruise ships and private charters.  It was early to bed and early to rise for Dennis and he was the first one in the gym or the first one walking the beach.  So many great memories and he will be forever missed.

Dennis was a superguy and has always been very well liked in the tennis community......he will truly be missed.

Dennis was always such a happy and fun person.    I enjoyed being his tennis partner in years past and he was such a tough competitor and patient partner.

I am so sad, and finding it unbelievable that Dennis is gone....remembering so many childhood times.  I am so glad I got to see y'all this past year, and keep up on Facebook.    I will be thinking about all of you today.


We didn't know Dennis, except through his Brother Ken. We knew Ken through our church in Eastman, GA while he was our Pastor. Just to send our Love to the Family. I know he will be missed.
