Donald Scott Edmonds

Donald Scott Edmonds was born on November 11, 1956, in Germany. He passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 69. A visitation will be held at Altman Memorial Baptist Church, located at 8960 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA, on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:50 am. A memorial service will follow at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, located at 4161Macon Rd. Columbus, GA.

Don had many friends, he was outgoing, funny, and mischievous. He loved to gather with friends and family and play music, while he smoked BBQ on the grill for everyone to enjoy. He could fix and build anything using his mechanical and fabrication skills. He never hesitated to help others whenever he was needed. He loved his church and his pastor, Hank Reeves, who changed his life for good. He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas R. Edmonds and Nellie V. Edmonds, a brother, Denny Edmonds, and his grandson, Andrew Edmonds.

Survivors include his children; Leila (Robert) Tramel, Donnie Edmonds; his stepchildren, Amethyst (Brian) Cain, Temperance (Corey) West; his siblings, Tommy (Lynn) Edmonds, Carl (Robin) Edmonds, Mike (Gay) Edmonds; Buddy (Susan) Shavers, Shirley Hunt; two grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews.
