Don Ward, 88, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas Church.
Don was born on June 17, 1936, at the end of the Great Depression and beginning of America’s involvement in World War II. He loved to read, teach, and have deep intellectual conversations which made him into a great English Teacher when he was employed with Muscogee County School district where he later retired from. Don was passionate about politics, American History, American Literature, spirituality, and philosophy.
He is survived by his children, Donna Ward McClellan (Phillip), Donjoel Ward (Keith), and Audrian Ward (Cindi); his granddaughter, Leah McClellan; and his nephews, Gene Ward, Steven Ward, and Jason Ward. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura Ward.
