Born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1932. She was reared in Washington, DC. She resided in Columbus, Georgia since 1969 and developed a real-estate business here. She was a member of the Windsor Park Garden Club and President of the Flower Workshop of Columbus. She was active in the St. Paul United Methodist Women, Altar Guild, Prime-Timers, and the Miller-Wilson Sunday School class. She was a member of the Columbus Museum, Historic Foundation of Columbus, and Callaway Gardens. Additionally, she sponsored the Allied Officers at Fort Benning. She was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus and traveled statewide to clubs when her husband was the Georgia Governor of Kiwanis.
Her hobbies were gardening, flower arranging, devotions, as well as cooking and entertaining. She took extensive travels with her husband, Reverend John M. Hunt, which were “storytelling” experiences. In her later years, her devotion and joy consisted of continued travels with her immediate family; completing tours of all seven continents.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend John M. Hunt. She is survived by daughter, Linda Barrett; son, William Kidney (Tamara); granddaughters, Christina Webber (Christopher) and Andrea Moffitt (Richard); grandson, Taylor Kidney (Amanda); and great-grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 in the Chapel at St. Paul Church, 2101 Wildwood Ave, Columbus, GA 31906, with a Visitation starting at 2:00PM.
