Family will visit with friends on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Jimbo Albrecht officiating.
Flowers will be accepted, but those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to Fairview Baptist Church, 2913 Reese Rd, Columbus, GA 31907 in memory of Doris McGee Booker.
Doris was born in Clay County, Alabama to the late Evie Morgan Quarles and Claude Thomas Quarles. She was a faithful and active member of Fairview Baptist Church for over 30 years. She volunteered at the Edgewood Senior Center for a number of years. Doris was a special education teacher for the Muscogee County School District. She was a loving mother and grandmother who’s world revolved around her grandchildren, they were her universe. Doris is preceded in death by her first husband, Reverend James Steve McGee. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gene Booker; her children: Jeffery Scott “Jeff” McGee, Deanna Ledford Duke & son-in-law Adrian Duke; her unadopted daughter, Kimberly McGee; grandchildren: Miranda Beall, Joel McGee, Austin Ledford, Cole Ledford, and Scott McGee; Siblings: Gay Nell Wilhite
