Doris Green Hamilton

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Little officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The Family will greet friends Tuesday evening, June 8, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be James Cole, Chuck Bishop, Jim Lipham, Ron Pate, Ralph Leary, and Phillip Authement. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Canady, Lee Hartford, Don Haney, Harry Lee, Richard Kelly, Ron Lynn, Gene Pate, and Hal Hebert.

Mrs. Hamilton was born November 10, 1923 in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late Josh H. and Hilda Prince Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Fellowship Ministries. Mrs. Hamilton was a founding member of Miller Road Sanctified Church of Christ where she ministered for 37 years. Everyone she met became a part of her family, and she spent her life serving others. Her devotion to her family, friends and church never wavered, and she remained committed to ministering to and helping everyone around her.

Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delmus C. Hamilton, and two daughters, Joanne H. Brinegar, and Jeanne Hamilton.

Survivors include one son; Darrel Hamilton and his wife, Donna of Jefferson, NC; three grandsons, Ray Brinegar, III, John Gatewood, and Travis Hamilton; one son in law, Ray Brinegar, Jr.; two great granddaughters, Carter Brinegar and Brower Brinegar.
