Doris Virginia Sanders, 96, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11AM in Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Wildwood room of Striffler-Hamby from 6PM until 8PM.
Born on December 8, 1925, in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clement C. Adams and Sarah Patram Adams. Doris married, Adolph Sanders then, she became a military housewife. She and Adolph traveled the world, moving every two to three years to places like, Germany, and France, with 7 children in tow. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, listening to music and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and liked to keep up with the news by reading the newspaper. Doris loved being outdoors with her Sheltie Dog.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Sarah Adams; husband, Adolph Sanders; and her daughter, Bonnie Sanders.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Robbie Sanders, Trish Stewart (Brett), Paula Hagemes (Dave), Sara Bylsma (Jerry), Richard Sanders (Linda), and Diane Stroud (Lamar); 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
