Earl Homer Bell

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 1:00 PM in the Porter Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Columbus 212 12th Street, Columbus, GA 31901 with Dr. James C. Elder, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Kinston, NC according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Visitation will be at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, on Friday, April 27 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Bell was born August 23, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Earl B. and Ida Mae Koonce Bell. He was a retired engineer for Eastman Kodak Co. of Rochester, NY. He had been living in Columbus since 1998. Earl liked gardening, woodworking, reading, playing cards with friends and was a member of the Silver Sneakers Aerobics at the Turner YMCA. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Elizabeth (Jeff) Dotterer of Austin, TX and Deborah (Patrick) Epling of Murfreesboro, TN, son Michael (Susan) Bell of Syracuse, NY, a brother Frederick (Nancy) Bell of Dayton, OH, and eight grandchildren.
