Eddie was born on October 8, 1965 in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Andrew F. Ammons and Isabell McCain Ammons. Eddie was born and raised in Columbus, and he graduated from Jordan High School in 1983. He continued his education with an associate’s degree from Columbus Technical College in Auto Collision Repair. Eddie married Deborah Fanney, and they have been married for 30 years. Eddie enjoyed many things in his life including being an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan (RTR), beach lover, animal lover, Republican/Independent, and a car, motorcycle and boat enthusiast. Eddie is known as Mr. TA for his Gold TransAm in the 80's. He will be missed at the JVHS “Rocking the 80's” Reunion this weekend. Everyone loved and enjoyed his Facebook pics of the beach and ocean views and Facebook videos of the Gulf of Mexico and dolphins. His Facebook humorous/sarcastic posts, SEC football rivalry posts and political posts were always a favorite. He enjoyed spending time at his beach cottage in Laguna Beach, Florida with Deborah, CiCi, and his Beach Family. What Eddie truly loved was his wife, family, friends, and the time he spent with them.

He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Floyd Ammons.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Deborah Fanney Ammons, of 30 years; his mother, Isabelle Inez (Ammons) McCain; his beloved fur baby, CiCi; mother-in law; Glorine (Peggy) Williams; father-in-law, Clifton Thomas Fanney; sister-in law, Pamela Fanney; nephews, Trey Fanney and Grant Clarkand; and numerous cousins and friends of the family that will cherish his memory.

He was an organ donor and his beautiful, blue 20/20 eyes were donated to the Georgia Eye Bank.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Paws Humane Society www.pawshumane.org where Eddie was a volunteer in the past and where CiCi was adopted.

Dear Deborah, I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Ed was always so nice to us at the beach, most recently was back in August when my car wouldn't start and he brought the jeep over to jump me off.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember the day I met Eddie and Deb when they were looking for a place at the beach and they were eyeing the place across the street from mine. I Loved Eddie, he was my kind of people , good or not, he was who he was. I loved that about him. But you know, I think he was so much more good than he ever realized. Im gonna miss you my friend. I know you are celebrating in heaven with your Dad that you have so truly missed. RIP my friend.

I met Eddie in 1977 in Junior high school. He was a great friend thru graduation. I can recall he and I cruising in his TA like we were someone special. Acting out scenes from Smokey and the Bandit. Great times I have cherished and will continue to do so.

I lost touch with Eddie, as we all seem to do, but Facebook brought us back together along with many of my JVHS friends. Eddie met up with me and Danny Curtiss a few years ago while in PC. It was good to see him.

I pray Eddie knew my Lord and Savior. I pray he is sailing the crystal waters of heaven. I pray he and my son are deep sea fishing right now.

I pray the Holy Spirit brings the family peace and joy in knowing Eddie is living his best life right now at the feet of JESUS CHRIST our Lord.
