Edna Louise Underwood Frost went home to be with Jesus on Friday, September 22, 2023, while surrounded by family. Edna was born on January 31, 1930 and grew up in LaGrange, GA. As a child, she loved helping her mother in the kitchen rather than playing outside with her many siblings. This would benefit her later as the mother of three boys.
Edna was working in a textiles factory when she met her husband Harold, who was brought in to do some electrical work. They married in LaGrange, GA on June 8, 1950. They raised three sons in Columbus, GA where homemade biscuits and grape jelly were the regular breakfast menu. Later in life, Edna enjoyed working at Kemet Electronics.
She was a Charter member of Edgewood Church of Christ until she moved from Columbus to Marietta, GA in 2016. She was known for being an avid reader and read her Bible every day. Edna was truly a woman of few words and showed great strength during the 93 years she was with us.
Edna was predeceased by her parents John Robert (1970) and Martha Rice Underwood (1975), seven of her siblings, her husband Harold Frost (1991) and her son David Frost (2008). She is survived by her two sons Eddie (Karen) Frost, Steve (Terry) Frost, four grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Eugene Underwood(Sue).
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 28, 10:00am, at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home (Macon Road) in Columbus, GA. There will be a celebration service in the chapel at 11:00am, followed by a brief graveside service at Parkhill Cemetery.
