Edward O'Neil Wade, age 69, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023. A visitation for family and friends of Ed will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, followed by a Celebration of Ed's life at 11:00 AM and interment at Parkhill Cemetery.
Ed attended School in Columbus and was a student of Jordan High School. He was married to Susan Annette Smith Wade. Ed retired from Colonial Baking Company and Continental Baking Company. Most recently, Ed enjoyed working alongside his son as a painter. Ed had a passion for College Football, fishing, grilling out, sweet tea, and NASCAR. Ed loved his family and cherished being a husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather.
Ed is preceded in death by: his parents, Ray Arnold Wade and Lillie Mae Wade Flowers.
Ed is survived by: his wife, Susan; son, Edward “Bubba” Wade; daughter, Christy Wade; Grandchildren, Desmond Neeley, JR Teel, Ashton Wade, Alexus Wade, Addison Wade, Aliza Wade; great granddaughter, Sophia Neeley; brothers, Aaron Wade, Jimmy Wade, Tony Flowers; sisters, Sherry Wade, Deloris Hobbs, Missy Flowers; and numerous friends and extended family members.
Edward will be laid to rest in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia.
