Mrs. Wilson was born August 13, 1927 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Claude Felker and Ouida Kelly Felker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Alfred Eugene Wilson, and a brother, Rayford Felker. She was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for 50 plus years. She loved the Lord and shared that love with all she met never missing an opportunity to invite people to her church.
She loved her family very much; her favorite times were having everyone together sharing laughter and food. One of her many passions was sharing the fruits of their Taylor County Farm. She was most famous for her peanut brittle and sugar cookies. She was very dedicated to serving others. She served as a Pink Lady at St. Francis Hospital. She was remembered for all the costumes she and her good friend Lila Webb wore for every holiday, greeting everyone while serving from the cheer cart. Mrs. Wilson can be described as having a caring spirit, someone that enjoyed life, and was well known for her “unique” sayings.
Survived by her loving family: Children - Jean Wilson (Jim) McLendon, Deborah Wilson (L.C.) Lane, Don (Kathy) Wilson. Grandchildren - Jim (LeAnn) McLendon, Chris (Leah) Lane, Andy Lane, Brian (Julie) Wilson, and Molly Wilson. Great-grandchildren - Grant, John Owen and Oliver McLendon, Jay and Les Lane, Parker Pulley and Wright Wilson. Sister-in-law’s - Ruby Wilson, Dorothy Kendrick, Martha Barrow, Catherine (Steve) Anderson, and Mary Ann (Marshall) Scott. Brother-in-law - Charlie Wilson and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Columbus Hospice, and to her faithful caregivers, Cleola Goshay and Veronica Glover for the care and compassion given to our mother while under their care.
