Elizabeth Burgess “Betty” Aglialoro passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on February 1, 2026 at the age of 98. She was born in Decator Alabama on August 13, 1927 to the late William Burgess and Bessie Hunter Burgess Greene.
Betty was working at Martin Army Hospital as a medical stenographer when she met a paratrooper who had broken his foot on a jump during training. She saw him coming down the stairs and she said he was the best looking man she had ever saw and she was going to get him. Shortly after that encounter Betty went to a dance with her sister, Willie while at the dance Betty saw Sal and he ask her to dance and the rest is history. Together they had five children and she lost Sal way too early in 1979.
She later met her special friend Frank while bowling on the St. Anne bowling team. Frank made a bet with Betty that if she bowled 200 he would buy her dinner-they have had a close friendship for over 40 years.
Betty retired from Raymond Rowe Furniture Store after many years. She was Catholic by faith and a longtime member of St. Anne Church, Betty was dedicated to her church. She was a proud supporter of numerous charities to include St. Jude Research Hospital for over 31 years. She was an avid tennis player, Betty loved being outdoors and working in her yard. She stayed busy in life and was driving until she had a fall at age 94.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: Larry Aglialoro (Carmen), Teresa Aglialoro Bennett (Paul), and Diane Aglialoro Conner (Mike); her very adored grandchildren: Shaun Bussey (Amanie), Chene Aglialoro Walz (Hayes), and Sean Conner; her very adored great grandchildren: Sebastian Bussey, Sophia Bussey, Christian Bussey, Asher Walz, Anabel Walz, Tullaluh Walz, Cade Conner, and Carson Conner; her special friend of over 45 years, Frank Sacramo; also to include numerous other family members and good friends.
