Elsa was born on December 30, 1935 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Josephina Perez and Felix Rodriguez. She attended the University of Puerto Rico and obtained her Master’s in Counseling. As her life continued, she became a counselor at the Georgia State Prison System. She married her late husband, Diego Lopez and they built a beautiful life together.
Elsa loved line dancing and playing po-keno with her friends “The Golden Girls”, she enjoyed crocheting and watching Turkish soap operas, teaching Spanish, and just listening to and counseling others. She was a wonderful, loving mother and devoted friend to those who knew her.
She is predeceased by her parents, Felix Rodriguez and Josephina Perez, her husband Diego Lopez, and her brother Jesus Manuel.
She is survived by her sons Roberto Lopez and Jesus I. Lopez, daughter-in-law Kimberly Lopez, as well as granddaughter Summer Jordan.
A funeral service for Elsa will be held at 12:30 P.M Wednesday October 15, 2025, in the wildwood room of Striffler Hamby Mortuary. A burial to follow at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery.
