Emma Sue Asburry

Born April 19, 1943 in West Virginia to Jesse and Lucille Marcum. Sue married Jerry Asburry in 1963. The family made their home here in Columbus due to his career in the army. She worked and retired from MWR at Fort Benning. As a Christian, she enjoyed her weekly Bible Study Group. Sue loved and enjoyed her time with family and friends. Sue will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Mark) Taylor; son Randall (Kelley) Asburry; grandchildren: Jesse Taylor, Zachary (Ashley) Taylor, Erica (Johnathan) Bender, Ashlee Harper, and Morgan Harper; great grandchildren: Mason Taylor, Luke Taylor, Easton Bender, Samuel Taylor, Ellie Taylor, Jack Taylor, Aiden Harper, Colton Bender; sisters, Linda Lewis and Joyce Bullington; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. Family will visit with friends before and after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s www.stjude.org.
