Mr. Eric Malone Stripling, son of Charlie and Carol Hampton, was born on October 20, 1979 in Savannah, Georgia. He is the eldest of four brothers, in which brother Charlie J. Hampton IV preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA. at 3:00 PM with Dr. Marshall S. McGill officiating.
He received his education in several school systems as a member of a military family. In June 1998 he graduated from Bradwell Institute. After his graduation he joined the United States Army and served for 15 years before retiring.
He was stationed at Fort Jackson, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart, Fort Carson, Korea and US Army Garrison Baumholder and served on deployments in Afghanistan, Iraq and Romania. He was known as a great leader and one of the best NCO’s. After his military career, he worked with US Auto Sales. He married his wife, Katrina on April 25, 2001 in Pell City, AL.
He lived a happy, full life. Eric was always friendly and the life of the party. He taught his loved ones to smile, to love, to have fun and to always step up to a situation and be a leader. He loved his family and enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Katrina Stripling; four children, Kahleb Ellis, Shadella Stripling, Erica Stripling and Beyonica Stripling; his father, Charlie Hampton and his mother, Carol Hampton.
