Espie L. Wrenn, age 90, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, September 27, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, 1 p.m. with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Watson McKemie officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Interment will follow at the Chapel of Pines Mausoleum, Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Wrenn, daughter of the late Thomas Clifford Leary and Lonie Margaret Bohanan Leary, was born September 18, 1923 in Lowland, North Carolina. She was retired from Civil Service at Fort Benning, Georgia where she served faithfully for many years as a Budget Analyst. Mrs. Wrenn was a longtime active member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church and member of the choir. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Warburton and Russell Warburton. Mrs. Wrenn is survived by her husband of 44 years, Clyde C. Wrenn of Columbus; two step-daughters, Pat Barfield and her husband Johnny of Phenix City, Alabama and Melissa Bass and her husband Glen of Lake Sinclair, Georgia; two step-sons, Jerry Wrenn and his wife Fran of Columbus and Bruce Wrenn and his wife Mary Jane of Phenix City, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Martha and Travis King of Gadsden, Alabama and Loretta Griffin of Shreveport, Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Dalton Wrenn and his wife Freda of Scottsboro, Alabama; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; caregivers, Gracie Garren, Posie Williams, and Arnetha “Neet” Wiggins; other relatives; devoted church family; and many other friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care rendered by Gentiva Hospice.
