Eugene "Diddy" Bell, age 79, passed away on May 16, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Bell was born on December 13, 1932 to the late Leonard and Annie Bell in Columbus, GA. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 42 years. He was a member of the Romeo Club and never missed an Atlanta Braves game on TV. Mr. Bell was always telling jokes and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Bell of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Terri Bell Applewhite of Albany, GA; two grandsons, Justin Applewhite (Courtney) and Blake Applewhite; one great-grandson, Donzee Applewhite; a sister, Geraldine Gilbert of Blakely, GA and several nieces and nephews.
