Eugene Dixon

Eugene “Tree” Dixon, 69, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home. He was born to his late parents Crawford and Ila Mae Dixon on October 14, 1946 in Columbus and lived here all his life. Gene retired from W C Bradley after 35 years in the maintenance department. He loved to collect old knives and Rail Road pocket watches, and visit “his second home” Golden Donuts. Gene’s passion was his family; he loved them, and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will welcome guests for visitation Friday, May 20, 2016 6:00-8:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A graveside service is planned for Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 am in Parkhill Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers include; Danny Grantham, Wayne Lawrence, Ronnie Starnes, Robbie Fretwell, Melvin Babb, and Greg Alexander.

Along with his parents Gene is preceded in death by twin sister Imogene Quimbley, and his brother Crawford H. Dixon, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Janie Dixon; sister, Wylene (Wiley) Paul of Smiths Station, AL; brother, Earl (Shirley) Dixon of Columbus, GA; son, Stephen (Penny) Dixon of Cataula, GA; grandchildren, Kendall Dixon, Breanna Richardson and Jacob Richardson; great grandchild, Greyson Poteat; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
