

Eva Jean Mincey Sanchez, 89, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born in Webster County, GA on December 31, 1936, Jean lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, hard work, and enjoying every moment she could.
Jean was known for her outgoing personality and entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout her life, she worked as a bookkeeper, at a radio station, owned a beauty shop and tax office, worked as a salesperson for World Book, and most recently worked with Aflac. She enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger. In her free time, Jean loved going to the casino and trying her luck gambling, something that brought her great excitement and enjoyment over the years.
She is survived by her life partner, Larry D. Williams; sons Howard Gregory Sanchez (Terri) and Jonathan Brad Sanchez (Miste); sisters Margaret White and Maxine Bacon; grandchildren Bryan Powell (Melissa), Kyle Powell (Michelle), Sheldon Sanchez, Bethany Millsaps (Matthew), and Isabella Sanchez; and great-grandchildren Camron Powell (Samantha), Hunter Powell, Taylor Powell, Nevaeh Powell, Aaliyah Powell, Kinsley Millsaps, and Avery Millsaps.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lumer Mincey; brother Roy Mincey; brothers-in-law J.D. White and Gene Bacon; and great-granddaughter Vivian Powell.
Jean will be remembered for her independence, determination, sense of humor, and the love she had for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907, US, on May 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at the same location on May 23, 2026, starting at 3:00 pm.
