On Monday, October 5, 2020, Frank William Bennett, Columbus, GA passed away in his home at the age of 68. Frank was born September 3, 1952, in Frankfurt, Germany to Frank Lewis Bennett and Elizabeth (Schumm) Bennett. His childhood in a military family meant that he lived abroad as well as all over the United States.
The highlight of his youth was playing baseball with an international all-star team that made it to the World Series playoffs in Belgium. He always had a passion for baseball and loved watching the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed listening to music of all genres, but some of his favorites were Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Credence Clearwater Revival. Frank enjoyed reading and watching old westerns. He watched every episode of Bonanza and Gunsmoke as many times as it ran on TV.
Frank graduated from Jordan High School in 1970 and briefly attended classes at CVCC in Phenix City, AL. He worked at Peek paving, D and H furniture, in construction and primarily as an electrician.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lewis; his mother, Elizabeth; his sister, Judy; and his stepson, Thomas Hindman. He is survived by his two sisters, Sylvia (Wayne) Smith and Melissa (Scott) Williams; the love of his life, Mary Jo Morrison; and two stepdaughters, Myra McMillan and Denise Gang.
There will be a graveside service at 2 pm on October 8th at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
