Gail Alston Williams, age 87, of Phenix City, AL passed away on May 5, 2025 at Columbus Hospice House. She was born, November 13, 1937, in Rockmart, Georgia, the daughter of Willie Clyde Zellers and Ethel E. Zellers. She was Christian by faith and was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God. Gail and Russell were faithful in attending church, going to majority of the worship services. She also shared her angelic voice in the choir. Gail worked for many years as a Darkroom Technician for Columbus Mills Printing. She was married to the late Ray Alston and in 2004 on February 14th married Russell M. Williams. Gail loved her family wholeheartedly and enjoyed spending time sharing her love with all.
Gail leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Russell Williams of Phenix City, AL; her son, Randy (Beth) Alston of Columbus, GA; four stepchildren; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three nieces and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethelyn Edeker Zellers and Willie Clyde Zellers; her husband, Ray Alston; her son Russell "Rusty" Alston, and her brother, Ralph Dennis Zellers.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday May 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Gail’s life will begin at 3:00 PM with Reverend Charles Hayes officiating. A private burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
